Chapter 3: Page 18
If she’s not going to listen to that wisdom from anyone else, why would she listen to a fae?
Well, he has known a lot of women.
We tried a Livestream on Friday, and it turns out the videos will stay in the archive for 30 days, so you can watch some of the inking of this page here: https://livestream.com/accounts/14057427/events/4213296 And I’d love to know what you think, these streams are for you!
We’ll try another stream soon.

No, he is just the expert when it cimes to female beauty
Hehe, yes, a beauty connoisseur…
I wonder if there is anyone that Ina really trusts or even likes?
Certainly not herself, that’s for sure. 😉
We enjoyed the video stream much! My little one wants to draw all the time now.
Uh oh, that’s how it starts… 😀
“known” a lot of women, eh? I bet. Nudge nudge wink wink say no more.
A nod’s as good as a wink to a blind bat, eh?
As any man who has dealt extensively with a woman knows, paying them compliments is seriously a waste of time. Tell a girl she’s beautiful and she just assumes you’re lying and want something!
I envy the fey, he has magic to bend them his way. Hah!
Problem #1: women are held up to an impossible, photoshopped ideal of beauty that creates inferiority complexes about their own looks, which leads some (like Ina) to believe that no one could possibly find them beautiful, and anyone who says otherwise must therefore have an agenda.
Problem #2: men are expected to be the bold ones and approach women–for example, to buy them a drink, which goes with the expectation that the man is interested in hooking up, and that usually comes with a side of compliments on the woman’s looks. Women are expected to wait to be approached. Among other things, this results in men who just want sex approaching women in bars and clubs–even women who are there with a group of friends–and insincerely complimenting them, most often on their looks. These men absolutely DO want something, and the compliments are just a means to an end, so women who are being hit on have valid reasons to distrust the compliments they receive.
Problem #3: using magic to “bend them his way” is rape. Laisrén *forcing* a woman to be willing is not consent. Rape isn’t necessarily a violent assault.
Please consider the social context before dismissing ALL women as being unreasonably cynical about compliments.
Laisrén knows that Ina has a huge chip on her shoulder and self-esteem issues, and he’s flirted with her before, so if he wasn’t expecting this kind of reaction, then he should have been. Perhaps he is genuinely complimenting her, but she has plenty of reasons to think he just wants something from her. I can link the pages on which he has wanted things from her if you want…
